The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to extensions with receiver Ryan Flournoy and tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford that could be worth $24 million combined. The contracts keep both players with the team beyond the 2026 season, even though neither has completed a breakout season.
Flournoy’s one-year addition can pay him as much as $6 million and runs through 2027. In 2025, he recorded 40 catches, 475 receiving yards and four touchdowns. The report said Dallas expects him to move into a bigger role as its established No. 3 receiver.
His size and athletic ability allow him to play each of the three receiver spots in the Cowboys’ 11-personnel formations. The agreement could also help preserve continuity among the top receivers if George Pickens leaves after the current season.
Spann-Ford’s three-year contract extends through 2029 and includes $12.075 million guaranteed within a maximum value of $18 million. He joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2024. Last season, he competed with Luke Schoonmaker for opportunities behind Jake Ferguson.
The moves mark a departure from Dallas’ earlier practice of securing long-term deals only after players had proved themselves. Prior examples cited in the report include contracts for Terence Steele, Jaylon Smith, Dak Prescott, Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland.
