Mosaic, the Tellus Group community that markets itself as Celina's newest neighborhood, is opening its gates for the first time on Saturday, Sept. 26, with a free music and food festival built around its award-winning lazy river.
The festival, called The Drift, runs from 11 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon on Saturday, Sept. 26, at The River, the community's amenity complex at 4601 Meander Way. It is free, and anyone may attend; Local Profile reports that organizers ask people to RSVP so they can send updates, but registration is not a condition of entry.
Sick Day with Ferris will play through the afternoon. Three food vendors have been announced: Sophia's Haitian Cuisine, Chef Yummi Dishes and Frutiland Gourmet. Other booths will sell beverages, desserts, clothing, jewelry and candles, and there will be lawn games on the grounds around the water.
The venue
The River opened as Mosaic's centerpiece and, according to Local Profile, was valued by its developer, Tellus Group, at $20 million in April 2026. Its features include a lazy river, cabanas with their own plunge pools, fire pits, a gym, sand volleyball, a splash pad for small children, indoor lounge space, a lawn for events and a covered stage.
The complex has collected awards on both the local and national circuit. In 2026 the Dallas Builders Association named Mosaic its Master-Planned Community of the Year at the McSAM Awards and gave The River its Best New Amenity honor, and in 2025 the amenity took a Gold Nugget Award in the Best On-the-Boards Community Amenity category.
Where Mosaic actually is
Mosaic describes itself as a Celina community, and that is how it has been marketed since plans surfaced in 2021. Its homes carry Prosper mailing addresses, though, and the developer's own FAQ places the community in Denton County, roughly a mile off the Dallas North Tollway and nine miles southwest of downtown Celina, inside Prosper ISD.
