The latest season of "King of the Hill" has returned to Hulu, with all 10 episodes of season 15 released on July 20. Notably, the fictional town of Arlen, where the series is set, is modeled after Richardson, Texas.
This season features the University of Texas at Dallas, located in Richardson, which is highlighted along with its mascot Temoc and the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering.
Co-creator Mike Judge, who lived in Richardson during the 1990s, has previously stated that Arlen is based on the city. While the show draws inspiration from various Dallas-area suburbs, it captures the essence of a mid-century suburb with its wide streets and backyard grills.
In addition to UTD, the season showcases other North Texas landmarks, including Hank repairing Big Tex at the State Fair of Texas and an appearance by Whataburger. The storyline follows Hank and Peggy as they navigate retirement on Rainey Street, while their son Bobby, now an adult, runs a fusion restaurant in Dallas and aims for a spot on a reality cooking show.
The voice cast features returning talents such as Mike Judge and Pamela Adlon.
