Property Acquisition Details

The resolution seeks to acquire rights of way totaling 8.6518 acres, temporary grading easements covering 1.5616 acres, and drainage easements spanning 0.0428 acres.

The targeted parcels are located in Denton County near the north and south sides of Parvin Road east of Dallas Parkway. Specific tracts fall within the Freeman Wilkerson Survey Abstract No. 1411, the John Mckinn Survey Abstract No. 889, the John B. Rue Survey Abstract No. 1112, the Benjamin L. Rue Survey Abstract No. 1113, and the Aaron Roberts Survey Abstract No. 1115.

Legal and Financial Process

City officials will authorize the City Manager to secure appraisal reports and submit bona fide offers of just compensation for the identified properties. The council will also ratify prior documents related to the acquisition process.

If direct negotiations with property owners fail, legal counsel will be authorized to initiate eminent domain proceedings on behalf of the city. The resolution includes a clause appropriating funds from a lawful source to support the project.

Project Scope and Location

The acquired land will support the construction and maintenance of a public roadway. The project scope encompasses drainage systems, grading operations, and other necessary appurtenant facilities for municipal use.

An official determination notice will be issued to inform affected parties of the city intent to acquire the real properties for these infrastructure improvements. The resolution contains standard repealer and severability clauses with an immediate effective date.
