Celina, Texas — Texas officials are shifting from immediate flood response toward cleanup and rebuilding after severe flooding affected broad parts of the state last week.

Gov. Greg Abbott said state and local agencies are coordinating debris removal, infrastructure repairs and recovery assistance. The governor’s office said about 490 homes have been identified as damaged, while personnel and specialized equipment remain available to support affected communities.

Abbott made the announcement after surveying damage in the Kerrville area and meeting with emergency-management officials. The assessment included neighborhoods, roads, bridges and other critical infrastructure, according to the governor’s office. Officials said residents in affected areas should monitor forecasts, avoid flooded roads and follow directions from state and local authorities.

The state continues to work with local, state and federal partners on search-and-rescue operations, debris removal and restoration. Information about flood resources and recovery assistance is available through Disaster.Texas.gov and disaster.texas.gov resources linked by the governor’s office.

Collin and Denton counties residents are part of the statewide network of workers, families and public agencies affected by Texas emergency-response decisions.
