Celina, Texas — The Texas Longhorns received a major Fourth of July boost when Gilmer offensive tackle Ismael Camara announced his commitment to the program. The consensus five-star prospect is the No. 20 overall recruit and the No. 3 offensive tackle in the 247Sports Composite rankings for the 2027 class.

The pledge gives Texas its 22nd commitment in the 2027 cycle and its fifth offensive lineman, adding to a class that ranks No. 4 nationally under position coach Kyle Flood. Camara projects as the final offensive line take for the Longhorns in this recruiting cycle.

Camara, who stands 6-foot-6 and weighs 340 pounds, chose Texas over a list of finalists that included Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, LSU, Ohio State, Oregon, SMU, Tennessee, and Texas A&M. The native of France moved to East Texas and played his first varsity season last fall, drawing nearly forty scholarship offers.

Celina, a growing Collin County city, is in the North Texas region where Longhorns football draws significant fan interest.
