Mac Haik Auto Group has closed on about 25 acres near Frontier Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway for a new Chevrolet dealership, the company announced Tuesday, about five months after the City Council cleared the zoning.
The group bought the land from the family trust of Tom Mosey, according to a Business Wire release. Ryan Turner, David Davidson Jr. and Edward Bogel of Davidson Bogel Real Estate represented the seller, and Sam Clayton and Adam Sheriff of Brown & Griffin Real Estate represented the buyer. The release did not give a price or a construction schedule.
Plans call for a building of about 100,000 square feet with 60 service bays, which the company says would make it one of the largest Chevrolet dealerships in the country. The release says Mac Haik and Chevrolet worked with the city to find the site.
How the site was approved
The City Council approved the zoning on June 9, according to the meeting minutes. The request amended about 25 acres of Planned Development No. 80 at the northeast corner of Dallas Parkway and Frontier Parkway with modified development standards for the project, listed as Mac Haik Celina.
At a public hearing that Mayor Tubbs opened at 7:32 p.m. and closed four minutes later, the applicant spoke about the project. Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Hopkins moved to approve Ordinance No. 2026-034 "without tree mitigation," the minutes say. Council Member Lambert seconded, and the motion carried 6-0.
