Opening Frame Sets Tone
The Minnesota Twins established early control of Tuesday’s contest at Globe Life Field, thanks to a decisive offensive output in the top of the first inning. Josh Bell launched a three-run home run to left field, measuring 376 feet, to break the game open. The blast drove in Martin and Lewis, instantly putting the visitors ahead 3-0.
That early deficit proved difficult for the home team to overcome. Texas Rangers starter MacKenzie Gore took the loss, allowing four earned runs over seven innings while striking out ten batters. Despite his strong strikeout total, Gore could not contain the Twins' power surge in the opening frame, which defined the final outcome.
Rangers Respond Briefly
The Rangers managed to cut into the lead in the bottom of the third inning. Joc Pederson hit a two-run home run to right field, spanning 394 feet, which brought Díaz home and narrowed the score to 3-2. This marked the last time Texas would score in the game.
Gore’s outing ended after seven innings of work. He was followed by Peyton Gray and Joe Ross, both of whom pitched one inning of scoreless relief. Gray recorded one strikeout, while Ross retired the side without a strikeout. The Rangers’ bullpen held the Twins hitless in the latter frames, but the offensive support never returned.
