Opening Frame Sets Tone

The Minnesota Twins established early control of Tuesday’s contest at Globe Life Field, thanks to a decisive offensive output in the top of the first inning. Josh Bell launched a three-run home run to left field, measuring 376 feet, to break the game open. The blast drove in Martin and Lewis, instantly putting the visitors ahead 3-0.

That early deficit proved difficult for the home team to overcome. Texas Rangers starter MacKenzie Gore took the loss, allowing four earned runs over seven innings while striking out ten batters. Despite his strong strikeout total, Gore could not contain the Twins' power surge in the opening frame, which defined the final outcome.

Rangers Respond Briefly

The Rangers managed to cut into the lead in the bottom of the third inning. Joc Pederson hit a two-run home run to right field, spanning 394 feet, which brought Díaz home and narrowed the score to 3-2. This marked the last time Texas would score in the game.

Gore’s outing ended after seven innings of work. He was followed by Peyton Gray and Joe Ross, both of whom pitched one inning of scoreless relief. Gray recorded one strikeout, while Ross retired the side without a strikeout. The Rangers’ bullpen held the Twins hitless in the latter frames, but the offensive support never returned.

Twins Extend Lead

Minnesota regained a two-run cushion in the top of the sixth inning. Byron Buxton delivered a solo home run to left-center field, traveling 398 feet. This was the Twins' second long ball of the game, extending their advantage to 4-2.

The Twins' pitching staff maintained the lead through the final innings. Mike Paredes started for Minnesota, pitching 4.2 innings and allowing four hits and two earned runs with two strikeouts. The relief corps shut down Texas for the remainder of the game. Taylor Rogers pitched 0.1 innings for the win, striking out one batter. Andrew Morris and Eric Orze each pitched a perfect inning, combining for four strikeouts. Yoendrys Gomez closed the game with 1.1 scoreless innings, earning his seventh save.

Final Outcome and Records

The Twins secured the 4-2 victory with a total of three home runs in the game. The Rangers' Josh Smith did not score, and no other Rangers runners crossed home plate after Pederson's homer.

With the loss, the Texas Rangers fell to a 35-37 record. The Minnesota Twins improved to 34-40. The game drew an attendance of 25,957 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
