Late Surge Secures Win

The game remained tightly contested through the early innings, but the Angels established control in the third. Grissom homered to left-center, measuring 395 feet, to make it 0-4. Adell followed with a double to right, bringing Lowe home. The Astros responded in the fourth when Trammell launched a 412-foot home run to center, cutting the deficit to 1-4.
Angels Maintain Lead
Los Angeles extended its lead in the eighth inning. Alvarez singled to left, allowing Peña to score, making the score 2-4. The Angels’ pitching staff held firm until the ninth, where the momentum shifted dramatically.
The turning point arrived with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. Spence grounded into a fielder’s choice to second, but Trammell scored on an error by second baseman Grissom. Allen was also safe at second and third on the play.
Paredes was hit by pitch, scoring Spence after the Angels challenged the call, which was upheld. Wade Jr. walked, bringing Paredes home on another upheld challenge. Alvarez scored on a fielding error by pitcher Bachman, completing the four-run rally.
