Lopez Drives in Key Runs
Otto Lopez delivered the decisive blows in the eighth inning, launching a two-run home run to left-center field that extended the Miami Marlins' lead to 4-1 over the Texas Rangers. Lopez also contributed an earlier run via a double, finishing with a multi-hit performance that anchored the Marlins' victory at loanDepot Park on Wednesday.
The Rangers took an early 1-0 lead in the fourth inning when Langford homered to center field, measuring 437 feet. Miami responded later in the same frame when Conine doubled to right field, allowing Lopez to score and tie the game at 1-1.
Marlins Take Control
The Marlins seized the advantage in the fifth inning. Edwards singled to right field, driving in Caissie to put Miami ahead 2-1. Jiménez advanced to third base on the play but did not score.
