Tristan Peters Powers Late Surge

Tristan Peters delivered a decisive blow in the sixth inning, launching a home run to right field (380 feet) that helped seal a 11-7 victory for the Chicago White Sox over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday. The win improved Chicago’s record to 69-63, while the Rangers fell to 66-67.

Early Deficit and Offensive Explosion

The Rangers struck first in the top of the first inning when Vargas singled to left field. Antonacci scored on a throwing error by left fielder Langford, with Vargas advancing to second and Murakami safe at third. B. Montgomery followed with a single to left, driving in Murakami.

Peters then doubled to right, bringing home Vargas and B. Montgomery to put Chicago ahead 4-0. Doyle singled to center, adding two more runs for a 6-0 lead.

Fifth-Inning Rally

The White Sox offense exploded in the fifth inning. Jansen homered to left field (399 feet) with Freeman scoring, making it 8-3. Duran singled to left, allowing Foscue to score.

Antonacci tripled to right, bringing home Romo for an 8-4 gap. Vargas singled to center, adding another run. In the sixth inning, Jansen doubled to left, scoring Pederson.

Foscue homered to left (364 feet), driving in Jansen for a 10-5 lead before Peters’ solo shot made it 11-5.

Pitching Performances

Jacob deGrom took the loss for Texas, pitching 3.2 innings while allowing six hits, eight earned runs, five walks, and two strikeouts. Cole Winn pitched 1.1 innings, giving up five hits and two earned runs. Peyton Gray worked one inning with three strikeouts. Jordan Montgomery and Tyler Alexander each pitched one inning, combining to allow one hit and one walk.

For Chicago, Anthony Kay pitched 4.2 innings, surrendering six hits, four earned runs, two walks, and four strikeouts. Jordan Hicks allowed three earned runs in one inning. Bryan Hudson secured the win with 1.1 scoreless innings, retiring all batters he faced without allowing a hit or walk.

Hagen Smith pitched 1.2 innings with three walks and one strikeout. Grant Taylor recorded the save with 0.1 perfect innings.
