Nico Collins will miss the Houston Texans' Week 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, while rookie receiver Lewis Bond is available after being brought up from the practice squad. KPRC 2 reporter Aaron Wilson, who cited a league source, said Collins has a Grade 1 hamstring injury and might miss the Bengals game and the following matchup with the Indianapolis Colts.

Wilson said the situation could still change.

Bond's call-up is Houston's second standard practice-squad elevation for the game, after veteran safety and special-teams player George Odum. Houston drafted Bond in 2026's sixth round, using the 204th selection, then released him during roster reductions to 53 players before placing him on the practice squad.

He has two more practice-squad elevations available before the Texans must add him to the 53-man roster or select another player.

Kayshon Boutte, Xavier Hutchinson, Jared Wayne and Jaylin Noel are expected to play ahead of Bond at receiver. NFL.com analyst Lance Zierlein previously described Bond as having dependable hands and an ability to make contested receptions. Zierlein also cited challenges creating separation against press and man coverage, while saying motion or bunch formations could aid his contributions.

His specific role against Cincinnati was not provided. The information was reported by sports.yahoo.com.
