According to a report by Jon Rothstein, the stay currently renders five key players ineligible: RJ Godfrey of Arizona, Chauncey Wiggins of Gonzaga, Jamichael Stillwell of Texas Tech, Dillon Hunter of Clemson, and Dan Skillings of Grand Canyon. Stillwell, a former UCF player, had successfully recruited to Lubbock after Grant McCasland announced his intention to play a fifth year.
The move was initially secured through a courtroom victory that allowed athletes from the 2022 recruiting class to claim an additional year of eligibility under revised NCAA guidelines. However, the NCAA has consistently challenged these decisions, seeking to reverse the rulings that granted the extra season.
