Dallas Cowboys safety Malik Hooker could miss as many as six weeks because of a forearm fracture suffered in the second half of the team's Week 1 loss to the New York Giants. His recovery schedule remains unknown, and he did not return to the game.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Hooker is meeting with a hand specialist to determine the injury's severity and expected recovery. The specific bone involved and the type of break will help determine how long he is unavailable, since some fractures heal faster than others. Coach Brian Schottenheimer said after the game that he thought Hooker's forearm was fractured.
Team co-owner Stephen Jones said some breaks can be played through, so Hooker might not necessarily miss a game.
