CELINA, Texas — Thousands gathered at Old Celina Park Saturday evening for Splash & Blast, Celina's biggest summer bash, celebrating both America's 250th anniversary and Celina's 150th anniversary with an evening of entertainment, family activities, and a spectacular fireworks finale.
The free event kicked off at 5 p.m. and featured three performances by the BMX Pros Trick Team, a troupe of elite freestyle athletes who performed 15-minute stunt shows combining high-flying action with motivational messaging. Live music acts included 90 Proof Country and The Jukebox Heroes, along with DJ Neil TX.
Families packed the Kids Zone, which offered water slides, a Ninja Nation obstacle course — requiring closed-toe shoes for participants — and arts and crafts stations. Food trucks lined the park to serve the crowd.
The evening closed with a drone and fireworks show at approximately 9:30 p.m., capping the five-hour celebration. Free shuttle service ran from Celina High School throughout the event, with the final departure to the festival at 9 p.m. and return shuttles resuming after the fireworks.
