A Houston man has been sentenced to 15 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice following a narcotics investigation conducted by the Celina Police Department. Dalton Campbell, 32, entered a guilty plea last week and received the sentence for charges related to drug distribution.

The case began on May 29, 2025, when Celina Police officers responded to a major motor vehicle accident in the 100 block of South Preston Road. During the investigation, officers determined that Campbell had been driving recklessly, resulting in a multi-vehicle crash. While at the scene, Celina Fire Department paramedics observed Campbell discarding items into a nearby grassy area before law enforcement arrived.

Officers searched the grassy area and discovered multiple illegal narcotics, including methamphetamine, MDMA, prescription narcotics, and various items of drug paraphernalia.

Campbell was arrested and charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2, tampering with physical evidence, possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1, possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 3, and possession of a dangerous drug.

Following the arrest, Celina Police detectives obtained and executed search warrants for Campbell's cellular devices. The investigation revealed evidence that Campbell was actively involved in the distribution of illegal narcotics within the community. The case was presented to the Collin County District Attorney's Office for prosecution.

"This sentence reflects the dedication of our officers and detectives who worked diligently to investigate this case and remove dangerous narcotics from our community," said Chief John Cullison. "The Celina Police Department remains committed to holding offenders accountable and working alongside our law enforcement and prosecutorial partners to keep our community safe."

The Celina Police Department thanked the Collin County District Attorney's Office for their partnership in pursuing justice in this case.
