Aura McCullough, a first-time mother from Allen, says she and her family were asked to leave Nowhere Bar in Celina on Father’s Day because she was nursing her five-month-old son. McCullough posted a video on TikTok describing the encounter, which she said left her feeling humiliated. She recounted that a staff member approached her table, stated she could not nurse in that manner, and suggested she cover up. McCullough refused, noting she does not carry nursing covers, and later learned the manager was monitoring security cameras.

The establishment has denied the allegation. Owner Katie released a video statement clarifying that the bar does not prohibit breastfeeding and has never ejected a patron for that reason. She explained that a young employee felt uncomfortable with McCullough’s prolonged exposure of her breasts, which led to a manager being consulted. Katie described the situation as a miscommunication that escalated beyond anyone’s intent, emphasizing that the owners were not present during the incident.

Texas law permits public breastfeeding and protects mothers from indecent exposure charges for exposing a breast while feeding. McCullough responded to the owner’s comments by stating she had never exposed her breasts outside of nursing. The Dallas Morning News attempted to contact the bar for further comment but received only the video link.
