A mother in Celina, Texas, says she and her family were asked to leave Nowhere Bar on Father’s Day because she was breastfeeding her five-month-old son. The incident occurred while the couple was celebrating their first Father’s Day together.

The woman stated that a staff member approached their table and instructed her to cover herself while nursing. She refused and asked if another patron had complained. She claims the manager, who was monitoring security cameras, upheld the request. When she asked to speak with a manager, she was told the employee she was already speaking with held that title. She then requested the bill to cancel the meal.

Although the owner reportedly offered to cover the cost, the family was still required to exit. The woman described the experience as humiliating and said the establishment shamed her for feeding her child. The owner later denied that the ejection was for breastfeeding, claiming instead that she had been exposed for an extended period.

The story has divided public opinion. Some commenters argued that nursing should be done discreetly, while others defended the mother’s right to feed her child openly. Texas law explicitly permits mothers to breastfeed in any public or private space where they are otherwise allowed to be, without any requirement to cover up.
