Celina’s population has expanded significantly in recent years, rising from more than 16,700 residents to over 64,000 within city limits over a six-year period, according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates. This growth represents an increase of more than 47,600 new residents since 2020.
The city also marked its 150th anniversary in 2026 and regained the designation of the nation’s fastest-growing city, driven by a 24.6% population increase from 2024 to 2025.
Anthony Satarino, executive director of the Celina Economic Development Corporation, stated that the city’s approach combines rapid growth with intentional planning. He noted that visitors often recognize that Celina is planning thoughtfully, a factor he believes helps transform initial interest into long-term investment. Satarino described the community as offering a lifestyle that includes exceptional schools, safe neighborhoods, an historic downtown, parks, trails, and community events.
The city has focused on strategic planning for future employment corridors and critical infrastructure to support new office, retail, healthcare, and mixed-use investments. Satarino emphasized that collaboration among the city, the economic development corporation, developers, utility providers, and private investors is a key competitive advantage.
He said this partnership allows stakeholders to solve challenges early and maintain open communication, creating an environment where investment can proceed with confidence.
