Home Depot plans to open its first store in Celina at 3425 S. Preston Road, situated at the northwest corner of Preston Road and Ownsby Parkway. The roughly 106,000-square-foot facility will include a 28,000-square-foot outdoor garden center, a Pro Desk, and a tool rental center. The site is part of the Village at Ownsby Farms development, located across from a planned Lowe's and near other commercial projects.
Construction is currently in the framing and dry-in phases. The retailer aims for an August 2026 opening, which aligns with an incentive agreement approved by city officials in late 2024. That agreement required the company to secure a certificate of occupancy by July 2026 and begin operations shortly after. The project is part of a nationwide expansion that includes 12 new locations across eight states.
Further details regarding specific job creation numbers or the exact scope of the incentive package are not yet clear.
