LITEON Technology, a Taiwanese electronics manufacturer, is set to build a significant facility in McKinney, which is about 13 miles southeast of Celina. Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced the project, which involves an investment of nearly $919 million and is expected to create over 600 jobs throughout its duration.

The initial phase of the project entails a capital investment of $307 million and the creation of approximately 500 jobs. The facility will cover more than 650,000 square feet and will serve as LITEON's North American headquarters for advanced manufacturing, focusing on power systems essential for AI data centers.

The state has supported this initiative with a $3.5 million grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund and a $100,000 Veteran Created Job Bonus.

Founded in 1975, LITEON has a history of innovation in the electronics sector, being the first company to list on the Taiwan stock exchange. Its current focus on AI technology has led to a significant increase in revenue from this sector, projected to reach 40 percent of total revenue this year.

The new facility will be strategically located in North Texas, which is experiencing rapid growth in the data center market, allowing LITEON to meet local demand for power systems more efficiently.

This investment marks one of the largest corporate commitments in McKinney's history, enhancing the local economy and providing a new anchor in advanced manufacturing. Construction and hiring schedules have yet to be disclosed.
