Bazzana’s Historic Output
Travis Bazzana defined the Cleveland Guardians’ offensive explosion on Saturday, hitting three home runs to lead his team to an 8-1 victory over the Houston Astros at Daikin Park. The standout performance included a massive three-run blast in the fifth inning that effectively sealed the outcome, propelling the Guardians to their sixth win in their last seven games.
Bazzana’s night began early in the first inning when he launched a 382-foot home run to right-center field, giving Cleveland a 1-0 lead. He added to his total in the third inning with a two-run homer to deep center, extending the advantage to 3-1. The decisive blow came in the fifth when Bazzana connected again, this time driving the ball 406 feet to right-center. That single play accounted for three runs, with Kwan and Bailey crossing the plate, pushing the score to 6-1.
Guardians Extend Lead Late
Cleveland continued to apply pressure in the seventh inning. Bazzana singled to right field, allowing Bailey to score and making it 7-1. Shortly after, teammate Manzardo singled to right, bringing Halpin home for an 8-1 margin. Manzardo also contributed earlier in the game with a two-run homer in the third inning that helped break the initial tie.
Houston managed to answer Cleveland’s opening salvo in the second inning. Diaz singled to right, scoring Paredes and tying the game at 1-1. However, the Astros’ offense struggled to generate further momentum against Cleveland’s pitching staff. The Guardians’ defense held firm, limiting Houston to just one run for the remainder of the contest.
