Celina, Texas — FC Dallas chief soccer officer André Zanotta said Daniel’s MLS experience will add competition in the goalkeeper group. Michael Collodi had started 13 matches this season and recorded three shutouts.
FC Dallas has acquired goalkeeper Daniel from the San Jose Earthquakes, giving the club an additional experienced option for the second half of the MLS season.
The trade can bring San Jose as much as $1 million in General Allocation Money: $700,000 is guaranteed and another $300,000 is tied to conditions, MLS and Field Level Media reported.
Daniel, 32, took over as San Jose’s starter in 2023 and recorded 15 clean sheets over 86 appearances in all competitions, MLS reported. His U.S. green card means he does not occupy an international roster slot.
