Rakell Decides It

Rickard Rakell's shootout wrist shot gave the Pittsburgh Penguins a 2-1 victory over the Dallas Stars on Saturday at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. The goal came after Ben Kindel, Sidney Crosby, Tyler Seguin and Wyatt Johnston had each scored in the shootout, with Rakell's attempt completing the scoring sequence.

The result came in a game that was tied after regulation and remained without a goal in overtime. Pittsburgh was the home team, while Dallas was the visiting team.

Third-Period Exchange

Neither team scored in the first or second period. Pittsburgh broke through in the third when Connor Dewar scored on a backhand to make it 1-0. Blake Lizotte assisted on Dewar's goal.

Dallas answered in the third period to tie the game at 1-1. Tyler Seguin scored on a tip-in, with Jason Robertson and Miro Heiskanen credited with assists. The teams did not add another regulation goal, sending the game to overtime and then the shootout.

Shootout Sequence

Kindel opened the shootout scoring for Pittsburgh with a wrist shot, followed by Crosby's wrist shot. Seguin answered for Dallas, and Johnston also scored for the Stars. Rakell then scored with a wrist shot for Pittsburgh.
