Two homers by Lee help Giants hand Rangers 5-1 loss at Globe Life Field

Giants seize early control

The decisive break came in the top of the second inning, before Lee’s two-homer game stretched the margin. San Francisco used two scoring plays in that inning and beat the Texas Rangers 5-1 on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Globe Life Field, where attendance was 23,736.

Gilbert singled to right in the second, and Susac scored on a fielding error by right fielder Nimmo as Gilbert moved to third. Basabe followed with a sacrifice fly to right, bringing in Gilbert and giving the Giants a 2-0 lead.

Lee adds power

Lee made it 3-0 in the top of the third with a homer to right center measured at 410 feet. He added another homer to right center in the top of the eighth, this one measured at 385 feet, pushing San Francisco ahead 4-0.

The Giants added their final run in the top of the ninth. Lee hit a sacrifice fly to center, scoring McCray for a 5-0 lead. Texas’ only run came in the bottom of the ninth, when Duran homered to left at 406 feet. The game included exactly three home runs: two by Lee and one by Duran.

Webb leads Giants staff

Logan Webb earned the win, moving to 7-7, with 6.0 shutout innings. He allowed five hits and one walk and struck out eight.

Keaton Winn recorded his 12th hold after pitching 0.2 inning, allowing one hit, no earned runs and no walks with one strikeout. Sam Hentges earned his seventh hold with 1.1 hitless innings, one walk and one strikeout. Tristan Beck worked 0.1 inning and allowed one hit, one earned run and one walk.

Reiver Sanmartin pitched 0.2 inning with no hits, no earned runs, no walks and no strikeouts.

Texas pitching and records

Cal Quantrill took the loss and is 4-4 after a 6.0-inning line of four hits, one earned run, one walk and four strikeouts. Ben Peoples pitched 1.0 inning with no hits, no earned runs, one walk and one strikeout. Peyton Gray allowed one hit, one earned run and one walk in 1.0 inning.

Nolan Kingham allowed one hit, one earned run and two walks while striking out one in 1.0 inning.

Texas is 55-58 after the loss. San Francisco is 48-65 after the win.
