Astros Offense Explodes
Yainer Diaz provided the offensive spark as the Houston Astros defeated the Texas Rangers 11-2 on Saturday at Daikin Park. The victory improved Houston's record to 56-55, while the Rangers fell to .500 at 55-55.
The Astros took control early in the second inning when Adolis Garcia drove in a run with a double, followed by an Alan Rajski single that loaded the bases. Corey Seager then cleared the bases with a two-run hit, giving Houston a 3-0 lead. The scoring continued in the fourth inning when Marcus Seager singled to score a run, making it 4-0.
Power Hitting Continues
Houston extended its lead in the fifth inning with back-to-back home runs. Josh Smith launched a solo shot to left-center, followed by another home run from Seager. The Astros added more runs in the sixth inning when Seager homered again, pushing the score to 6-0. Later in the sixth, Seager singled to score another run, making it 7-0.
The Astros' offense remained relentless in the seventh inning. Diaz homered to left-center, followed by a double from Seager that scored two more runs. Paredes then singled to score another run, bringing the total to 10-0. Spence added a run in the eighth inning with a single to center.
