Alonso Powers Offense
Pete Alonso delivered a career highlight for the Baltimore Orioles, hitting two home runs to drive in four total runs during their 10-5 victory over the Texas Rangers. The slugger’s power display was a key factor in overcoming an early deficit and establishing control of the game at Globe Life Field.
Alonso’s first blast came in the second inning, a three-run shot that extended the Orioles' lead. He added another multi-run home run in the fourth inning, further widening the gap. His performance included two solo efforts later in the game, showcasing his ability to impact the scoreline at multiple moments.
Game Flow and Scoring
The Rangers initially took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Beavers reached on an infield single, allowing Alonso (of the Orioles) to score. Taveras doubled shortly after, bringing Holliday home to make it 2-0 Baltimore. However, the Orioles responded immediately in the second inning with Cowser’s solo home run to center field.
The turning point arrived when Alonso homered to left field, scoring Henderson to push the lead to 5-0. The Rangers attempted a rally in the third inning, with Nimmo hitting a three-run homer to center that brought Langford and Duran home, making the score 5-3. Despite this surge, Baltimore regained momentum in the fourth when Alonso’s second multi-run homer made it 7-3.
