Four-run third sets tone
A scoreless game turned in the bottom of the third inning, when Texas stacked four scoring plays into the decisive inning of a 6-0 win over San Francisco on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
Langford scored when Nimmo singled to right for a 1-0 Texas lead. Foscue followed with a triple to left that brought in Nimmo and Burger, pushing the Rangers ahead 3-0. Díaz then doubled to left, scoring Foscue and making it 4-0.
That inning supplied most of the offense the Rangers needed in the shutout win.
Nimmo supplies the only homer
Nimmo added to the lead in the fifth with a home run to left, measured at 350 feet. It was the only home run in the game and extended Texas’ lead to 5-0.
The Rangers added their final run in the eighth. Lopez singled to center, scoring Burger and sending Pederson to second for the 6-0 margin.
Texas scored six runs on five scoring plays: four in the third, one in the fifth and one in the eighth.
Texas pitching keeps Giants scoreless
Cody Bradford worked 4 1/3 innings for Texas, allowing five hits with no earned runs, two walks and five strikeouts. Tyler Alexander earned the win, improving to 2-2, after pitching 1 2/3 innings with no hits, no earned runs, no walks and three strikeouts.
Robby Ahlstrom pitched one inning, allowing one hit with no earned runs, no walks and one strikeout. Chase Silseth also pitched one inning, allowing one hit with no earned runs, one walk and one strikeout. Cole Winn completed one inning, allowing one hit with no earned runs, no walks and no strikeouts.
San Francisco finished with no runs, while each Texas pitcher was charged with zero earned runs.
Whisenhunt takes the loss
Carson Whisenhunt took the loss for San Francisco, falling to 2-3. He pitched 3 1/3 innings and allowed five hits, four earned runs and three walks with four strikeouts.
Carson Seymour allowed one earned run on two hits and one walk in 2 2/3 innings, striking out two. Jason Foley pitched one inning with no hits, no earned runs, no walks and one strikeout. Tristan Beck allowed one earned run on two hits and one walk in one inning, striking out one.
The announced attendance was 26,098. Texas is 57-58 after the win, while San Francisco is 48-67.
