A Decisive Start

The tone was set early in College Station when Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed connected with Isaiah Horton for a 15-yard touchdown pass. The successful extra point by David Olano gave the home team a 7-0 lead, a margin that would only expand throughout the afternoon. The Aggies followed this strike with a safety, pushing their advantage to 9-0 before the first quarter ended.

This early dominance established the trajectory of a game that never truly wavered in the Bears' favor.

Building the Gap

Missouri State struggled to find any rhythm against the Aggies' defense, failing to score in the first half. Texas A&M continued to capitalize on offensive opportunities, with David Olano converting a 28-yard field goal to make it 12-0. The momentum shifted decisively in the Aggies' favor when Reed found Mario Craver for a 12-yard touchdown pass.

The successful kick extended the lead to 19-0, leaving the visiting Bears with little hope of mounting a comeback. The defensive effort was equally notable, as Missouri State’s offense was neutralized for the entire first half.

Dominance in the Second Half

The Aggies did not slow down in the third quarter. Terry Bussey broke free for a 10-yard rushing touchdown, followed shortly by Jamarion Morrow adding a 2-yard run. These consecutive scores pushed the lead to 33-0, cementing the Aggies' control of the game.

The offensive line and running backs displayed excellent coordination, allowing the team to manage the clock effectively while continuing to pile on points. Missouri State's offense remained dormant, unable to generate any meaningful drives or scoring opportunities against the aggressive Texas A&M defense.

Closing the Game

The fourth quarter served as a formality for the Aggies, who added three more touchdowns to their tally. Carsyn Baker rushed in for 12 yards, while Aaron Gregory caught a 15-yard pass from Brady Hart. The scoring was capped by a 47-yard field goal from Asher Murray, finalizing the 50-0 victory.

Marcel Reed finished with 21 of 30 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns. Rueben Owens II carried the ball 17 times for 77 yards, and Isaiah Horton hauled in four passes for 76 yards and a touchdown. For Missouri State, Skyler Locklear completed 8 of 17 passes for 30 yards, while Jambres Dubar rushed for 20 yards on seven carries.

The Aggies improved to 1-0, while the Bears fell to 0-1.
