Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins did not practice for a second straight time because of a hamstring injury, leaving his status unsettled for the team’s Week 3 game against the Indianapolis Colts. Houston has one practice left before Sunday’s matchup, and the team had not announced a final decision on Collins.
Collins suffered the injury while preparing for Week 2 and sat out Houston’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. In the Texans’ 36-31 defeat to the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, the 27-year-old caught seven of 10 targets for 75 yards and one touchdown.
Should Collins miss the game at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Jaylin Noel, Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshon Boutte could see more chances. Tight end Dalton Schultz has produced 175 receiving yards on 16 catches, the team’s top downfield total through two games. Collins’ next possible game would be Week 4, when Houston is set to play host to the Dallas Cowboys.
He has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in every one of the past three seasons, including 1,117 yards in 2025. Collins, who previously played for the Michigan Wolverines, also received an offseason contract adjustment from Houston.
