Jake Hummel will miss a minimum of four games after the Texans placed the linebacker on injured reserve Saturday. The roster designation followed a groin injury he sustained in Houston’s Week 1 loss to the Bills. Hummel must miss at least four games before the team can consider bringing him back to the active roster.
Hummel has not returned to practice since the injury. Jake Hansen is expected to remain in the starting linebacker group with Azeez Al-Shaair and Aiden Fisher during Hummel’s absence.
CBS Sports reported the transaction, relying on information from Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston.
