TCU has locked in its final non-conference opponent for the 2028 football season, selecting the Northwestern State Demons. The contest is scheduled for Saturday, September 2, 2028, at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas. According to a contract revealed through a public records request, TCU will pay a $600,000 guarantee to Northwestern State for the appearance.

This fixture represents the second time these two programs have met on the gridiron. Their sole previous encounter took place in 2001, a game that ended with a 27-24 overtime victory for the Demons. Northwestern State, located in Natchitoches, Louisiana, plays in the Football Championship Subdivision as a member of the Southland Conference.

Head coach Blaine McCorkle currently leads the team, which has opened its season with losses to Louisiana Christian and Louisiana Tech.

The addition of this game completes TCU's slate of non-conference matches. The Horned Frogs will begin the 2028 campaign at home against Louisiana on August 26, followed by a road trip to Duke on September 9. While the Big 12 Conference has not yet released specific conference opponents, TCU is projected to play five home games and four away games during the year.

Northwestern State also has a scheduled home game against Central Arkansas on September 16, 2028.
