Coach Brian Schottenheimer said the plan was to spread Washington's defense and throw, though he did not anticipate such a low rushing total.
Owner and general manager Jerry Jones said the victory increased his optimism about the team and indicated he would spend money if needed to improve the roster. He also praised defensive tackles Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark. Jones called Williams among the NFL's best players and said Clark's steady performance has strengthened Dallas in the center of its defense.
Jones added that Williams is not injured after appearing slow to get up following several plays against Washington.
Dallas is preparing to play Baltimore in Rio de Janeiro at Maracanã Stadium. Social media users have questioned the playing surface after Flamengo played there. Schottenheimer said Dallas' operations personnel has been in contact with the league and said he is not worried about the field.
