On September 8, the Houston Texans announced significant roster adjustments, adding quarterback Mark Gronowski and center Gavin Gerhardt to their practice squad. This decision resulted in the release of rookie defensive tackle Dominic Bailey. The news was shared by Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 on social media.

Bailey had a brief stint back on the practice squad after being cut during the team's final roster decisions to comply with the 53-player limit. Additionally, the Texans parted ways with Ka’ena De Cambra, who had been signed just a week prior on September 1.

Gronowski, previously a quarterback for the Dolphins and Hawkeye Football, is now part of the Texans' practice squad. Gerhardt, a seventh-round draft pick in 2026, is recognized for his leadership and football intelligence, having started 49 games in college. He is expected to enhance depth at the center position, joining Evan Brown, Jake Andrews, and rookie first-round pick Keylan Rutledge on the offensive line.

The team is focused on developing Gerhardt's skills, emphasizing his understanding of the game and alignment with the team's culture. The full impact of these roster changes remains to be seen.
