Dallas will be without four defensive players for its Week 3 matchup with Baltimore: Cobie Durant, Malik Hooker, P.J. Locke and DeMarvion Overshown. None practiced Wednesday or Thursday, and the Cowboys ruled each one out of the trip to Rio de Janeiro. Dallas and the Ravens both have 1-1 records.
Durant, a cornerback, suffered a hamstring injury in last Sunday’s victory over Washington and was expected to miss multiple weeks. He had played 87 defensive snaps across Dallas’ first two games after joining the Cowboys this offseason following four seasons with the Rams. Second-year cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. is expected to see additional action with Durant unavailable.
Hooker has been out since breaking his forearm during the season opener against the New York Giants. He started that game but left after 12 defensive snaps. Locke replaced him in the starting lineup against Washington, playing 31 defensive snaps before a torn plantar fascia in his foot ended his game.
Overshown, who recorded seven tackles before leaving the opener with a hamstring strain, will miss his second consecutive game. Jaishawn Barham is expected to take on a larger role against Baltimore.
The game is set for 3:25 p.m. CT at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, where Dallas is the home team. Sports.yahoo.com published the report.
