The Cowboys expect Jonathan Bullard to miss three to five weeks with a calf injury, while safety Jalen Thompson is facing an absence of at least four weeks because of a hamstring problem. Both injuries occurred during Dallas' first three regular-season games, and Bullard had already missed most of training camp because of an earlier injury.
Thompson could be placed on injured reserve with a designation to return, joining safety P.J. Locke, according to a report. The injuries came during Dallas' loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Rio.
That game also left cornerback Shavon Revel with knee and ankle issues. Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday that Revel's recovery was going well and that he might practice this week. The team has not confirmed whether he will play against Houston in Week 4.
Cobie Durant is not expected to travel to South Texas while recovering from a hamstring injury. Malik Hooker, who fractured his forearm in the season opener, may need more time, while DeMarvion Overshown could practice this week after missing the past two games with a hamstring injury.
Dallas has worked out several players, including former Cowboys safety Juanyeh Thomas, as first-year defensive coordinator Christian Parker manages a depleted safety group before the visit to the Texans, who remain winless.
