Baylor won 44-3 against Prairie View without junior quarterback DJ Lagway, who is expected to miss the team’s upcoming game with Louisiana Tech. The Bears then begin Big 12 play against Colorado on Sept. 26, a matchup involving coach Deion Sanders’ Buffaloes.
Pete Nakos of On3 Sports reported that Lagway is progressing toward being available for the Colorado game. The report did not say whether he will play, and ClutchPoints reported that the schedule for his return remains unsettled beyond that update.
Lagway hurt his ankle in Baylor’s 17-16 season-opening defeat to Auburn. Sources previously told On3 Sports that the injury was a high-ankle sprain. Earlier in the week, coach Dave Aranda said Lagway’s status was being evaluated from day to day. Lagway did not play against Prairie View.
