Baylor University quarterback DJ Lagway is currently listed as day-to-day due to an ankle injury, as confirmed by head coach Dave Aranda. The Bears are hopeful that Lagway will be ready to compete in their upcoming game against Prairie View A&M on Saturday.
Lagway suffered the injury during a close 17-16 loss to Auburn in the season opener. Despite the setback, he played the entire match and effectively led the offense, although his mobility was compromised. In his first game for Baylor, Lagway completed 27 of 54 passes for a total of 333 yards, including two touchdowns and one interception.
He played a key role in a late-game comeback, overcoming a 17-10 deficit with crucial completions, culminating in a 5-yard touchdown pass to Gavin Freeman with just 9 seconds left on the clock.
Updates on Lagway's recovery are anticipated following practice on Tuesday and Wednesday as the team continues to assess his condition.
