TCU fell to 2-2 after Central Florida won 21-13 in Orlando, with the Horned Frogs now 0-2 against Power Four opponents. The defeat was the Big 12 opener for both teams. TCU was flagged 11 times, costing 86 yards, and finished with two fewer takeaways than UCF.
Its rushing average was 1.2 yards per attempt. The loss also ended the team’s hope of opening 4-0 and bringing ESPN’s “College GameDay” to Fort Worth for the Oct. 3 home matchup with No. 9 BYU. TCU has scored an average of 11.5 points per game through its first month.
Jaden Craig, a Harvard transfer, is still listed above sophomore Adam Schobel. Schobel made no freshman appearance in 2025 and has attempted one pass this season. In games against North Carolina and UCF, Craig’s passing totals include 45 completions on 72 throws, 485 yards, two interceptions and no touchdowns.
He also has 10 rushing attempts for minus-38 yards, with sacks included in college rushing statistics. The report said his receivers have provided limited help, while Craig has struggled when the pocket breaks down.
A change could carry financial and personnel consequences because Craig signed with TCU for more money than Schobel. TCU may keep Craig against BYU, or Schobel could make his first start at Baylor on Oct. 17 after the team’s bye week and two weeks of possible first-team preparation.
