In the Texas Longhorns' volleyball match against TCU, outside hitter Abby Vander Wal left the game due to a knee injury during the opening set. The injury occurred while she was involved in a play on the left side of the court, where she fell and remained down, visibly holding her knee.
Training staff assisted Vander Wal off the court as she could not put weight on her leg. She did not return for the remainder of the set, which Texas won by sweeping TCU. Prior to her exit, Vander Wal recorded two kills and her topspin serve contributed to two scoring runs for the Longhorns.
Details regarding the severity of her injury have not yet been disclosed, and the situation is still developing.
