Von Miller, the active leader in career sacks in the NFL, has officially joined the Dallas Cowboys on a one-year contract. The announcement came from Miller himself via an Instagram post, where he shared his enthusiasm with the phrase, "Hereee Weee Gooo."

Hailing from DeSoto, Texas, located about 25 minutes south of Dallas, Miller has deep connections to the region, having played college football at Texas A&M. As he enters his 15th NFL season, he previously played for the Washington Commanders, recording 26 tackles and nine sacks in 17 games last year.

Miller is a two-time Super Bowl champion, winning with the Denver Broncos in 2015 and the Los Angeles Rams in 2021. Drafted second overall by the Broncos in 2011, he has also played for the Buffalo Bills. His career totals include 138.5 sacks, placing him tied for 13th all-time with Hall of Famer DeMarcus Ware, a former Cowboy.

Alongside his sack achievements, Miller has tallied 607 tackles, 271 quarterback hits, and 27 forced fumbles over 203 games, earning eight Pro Bowl selections and three First Team All-Pro honors. The Cowboys will kick off their 2026 regular season on September 13 against the New York Giants in a Sunday Night Football matchup.
