Celina police investigate shooting in Carter Ranch neighborhood

The Celina Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday evening in the Carter Ranch neighborhood. Officers responded to calls regarding a reported dispute between neighbors around 6:00 p.m. in the 300 block of Tarpan Trail.

Witnesses stated that the incident between the neighbors escalated quickly. According to the department, one individual was offered treatment on the scene, while another person was transported by Celina Fire Department EMTs to a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds.

Police have secured the area and stated that there is no current threat to the public. Law enforcement officials have launched a full investigation, which is ongoing. The department noted that no further details can be shared at this time.
