Celina residents are encouraged to register for the city’s official emergency notification system to receive timely information before, during and after emergencies that may affect public safety, utilities, transportation and other essential services.
Emergency notifications are delivered through Everbridge, the city’s official mass notification platform. Authorized city and public safety personnel use the system to distribute critical, time-sensitive information during emergencies and other events that may affect the community.
The city said Everbridge is not a replacement for calling 9-1-1 during an emergency and should not be considered a real-time emergency response service.
Residents may register multiple locations in Celina, including a home, workplace, school or other frequently visited location. The city said the location-based system helps residents receive alerts relevant to the areas most important to them.
Alerts may include severe weather, water or utility service disruptions, gas leaks, road closures, police or fire activity, missing persons, boil water notices, evacuation instructions and other emergencies or public safety incidents. Residents may also choose to receive optional National Weather Service alerts when a registered address falls within an official warning area.
Notifications can be sent by phone call, text message, email or push notification through the Everbridge Public Safety App. Registration is free. Residents should use a City of Celina street address and current contact information. The city said personal information is kept confidential and used only for official city communications and emergency notifications.
Residents without internet access may contact the Celina Fire Department at (945) 362-9481, Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., for registration assistance. The city also participates in the State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry to help emergency planners identify and communicate with residents who may need additional assistance during certain emergencies.
