Universal Kids Resort has officially opened its doors in Frisco, prompting nearby commercial establishments to adjust their strategies for sustained economic growth. Business owners in the immediate vicinity are anticipating that the new family-oriented attraction will generate consistent foot traffic and long-term development for the area.
The Brunch District, a restaurant that opened approximately one month ago, is situated just down the road from the new resort. Christian Navarro, the establishment’s manager, noted that while the venue experiences fluctuations in customer volume, weekends tend to be particularly busy. He expressed confidence that patronage will increase as more visitors become aware of the location.
Navarro highlighted the concentration of major attractions in the area, including The Fields, the PGA facility, and the newly opened Universal resort. Although he described current traffic levels as slightly lower than initial projections, he predicted that the area would remain consistently busy within a year. Having resided in Frisco for nine years, Navarro observed a dramatic transformation of the local landscape. He recalled a time when the region consisted primarily of open land, dirt roads, and two-lane streets, contrasting it with its current status as one of the fastest-growing corridors in North Texas.
Addressing concerns regarding potential congestion, Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney stated that city engineers prepared for increased traffic volumes well before the resort’s opening. Cheney explained that road and infrastructure improvements were implemented in advance to accommodate the expected demand. He noted that city planners deliberately mixed office, entertainment, and tourism developments along the Dallas North Tollway to distribute traffic flow throughout the day. According to Cheney, avoiding a concentration of solely office buildings helped mitigate peak-hour congestion issues.
Local business owners remain optimistic about the future prospects of the area. Navarro described the combination of attractions and development as a successful formula for the region. Further details regarding specific economic projections or long-term traffic data are not yet clear.
