Universal Destinations & Experiences has officially opened Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, marking the company's debut in the regional theme park sector. The facility is designed specifically for children between the ages of three and eight. Page Thompson, president of New Ventures for Universal Destinations & Experiences, stated that the park was built with young visitors in mind and expressed satisfaction with the initial reception.
The resort features seven distinct zones centered on popular animated franchises. Visitors can explore DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp, Jurassic World Adventure Camp, and Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom. Other areas include Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club, DreamWorks’ TrollsFest, and DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots Del Mar. The Isle of Curiosity zone highlights Gabby’s Dollhouse.
Accommodations are available on-site at a 300-room hotel situated at the park entrance. Each room can accommodate up to six guests. The property offers various family amenities and dining choices intended to appeal to a wide range of tastes.
Admission pricing varies based on the duration of the visit. A one-day general admission ticket costs $54.99, while a two-day pass is priced at $73.99. Guests who opt for a Coca-Cola Freestyle Souvenir Cup with their ticket pay $69.99 for one day or $101.99 for two days. Additional experiences include the Troll-ify Me! service, which costs $25 per person and allows guests to dress as characters from the Trolls movies. A Private VIP Experience is also available for $999.99 per person, providing a four-hour guided tour with priority access to attractions.
Molly Murphy, president of Universal Creative, described the project as a unique opportunity to introduce younger audiences to the brand. She noted that the park was developed to encourage physical activity and interaction with favorite characters. For further details, visitors are directed to UniversalKidsResort.com.
