Green Brick Partners and HFI Capital Management marked the official opening of Whispering Grove, a two-acre entrance park located at the Rainwater Crossing development in Celina. The space includes designed landscaping, walking paths, gathering areas, and a large reflection pond. The park serves as the primary gateway for the master-planned community.
A central feature of the new park is a 35-foot-tall sculpture named Scout's Tree. Created by Dallas artists Brad Oldham and Christy Coltrin, the piece is constructed from stainless steel and Cor-Ten steel. The design incorporates a weathered steel trunk and mirror-polished branches.
LED lighting is integrated into the structure to change its appearance after dark. The artists stated that the sculpture honors the site's history as a tree farm while reflecting the future of the community. A purple martin figure is hidden within the branches, and a single golden branch pays tribute to Richard Rainwater.
Jed Dolson, President and Chief Operating Officer of Green Brick Partners, said the opening represents a milestone in bringing the community's vision to life. He described the space as a welcoming setting for neighbors to connect and create memories. The development is a joint venture between Green Brick Partners and HFI Capital Management, guided by the philosophy that life flows in the area.
