The Frisco Police Department is requesting information from the public regarding a robbery that took place at the Frisco Athletic Center on June 29. Frisco is located approximately 12 miles south of Celina.
According to a social media post published on Wednesday, officers responded to a call around 8 p.m. about an armed robbery in the facility's parking lot. Investigators determined the incident followed a pre-arranged meeting between the parties involved. The suspects departed the scene in a blue and white Ford Bronco before law enforcement arrived.
Officers later located the vehicle at a fast-food restaurant a few miles from the athletic center. The Bronco was identified as belonging to a nearby resident. Police interviewed the occupants of the vehicle but found that the individual carrying the handgun was not present.
Detectives and school resource officers conducted a preliminary investigation which revealed that the individuals involved are juveniles enrolled in the Frisco Independent School District. The department stated that all parties identified in the incident will be held accountable for their actions.
