Celina, Texas — Gas prices in the Dallas area averaged $3.9678 per gallon for regular unleaded on September 22, 2026, according to AAA, down from $3.9736 yesterday. That is up from $3.8524 a week ago but higher than $3.6204 a month ago.
The statewide average in Texas stands at $3.9626, while the national average is $4.4750. Drivers in the Dallas area are paying above the state average and below the national average.
The Dallas average remains below its AAA recorded high of $4.8370. Regular prices are about 35 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $2.7837, drivers are paying about 118 cents more per gallon.
Diesel in the Dallas area averages $5.9617 per gallon, AAA reported.
