Celina's 150th-Anniversary Fall: Oktoberfest, Beware! of the Square and a Packed December

The city's 2026 calendar runs deep into its sesquicentennial year: Oktoberfest Oct. 3, the Halloween square takeover Oct. 24, a Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving and four December events on the Square.

Celina is spending the back half of 2026 the way it has spent the front half: with its downtown Square working overtime. The city's official 2026 events calendar, published under the Celina150 mark for the city's 150th anniversary year (1876-2026), lists a fall and holiday schedule that runs nearly every weekend.

All dates below are from the city's calendar, which notes events may be subject to change.

August and September

  • Aug. 21 - Movie Night at the Park
  • Sept. 4 - Celina Friday Night Market
  • Sept. 11 - 9/11 Anniversary Ceremony
  • Sept. 19 - Fire Station #2 Open House

October

  • Oct. 3 - Oktoberfest, sharing the day with the citywide Clean Sweep
  • Oct. 6 - National Night Out
  • Oct. 9 - Celina Friday Night Market
  • Oct. 24 - Beware! of the Square, the Halloween event that anchors Celina's claim as the Halloween Capital of North Texas

November

  • Nov. 6 - Celina Friday Night Market
  • Nov. 7 - Police Department Ruck March
  • Nov. 14 - Fire Station #1 Open House
  • Nov. 26 - Celina Turkey Trot, on Thanksgiving morning

December

  • Dec. 2 - Christmas on the Square
  • Dec. 5 - Celina Gift Tour
  • Dec. 12 - Reinsteer on the Square, with Coffee with a Cop the same day
  • Dec. 19 - Santa on the Square

The bigger picture

The city says its events calendar draws more than 100,000 attendees across more than 25 events a year, and 2026 carries extra weight as the sesquicentennial. Details for each event are on the city's special events pages as dates approach.
