Celina Opens at Home Aug. 28, Ranked 20th in Texas

Celina begins its 2026 season at home on Friday, Aug. 28, hosting Legacy School of Sports Sciences.

The Bobcats enter the year ranked No. 20 in Texas and No. 62 nationally by On3, continuing one of the more consistent runs of any program in Collin County.

The tests on the schedule

The opener is followed by Liberty Christian, ranked No. 95, at home on Sept. 4. The schedule's sterner examinations come later: Panther Creek, ranked No. 81, on the road Sept. 25, and Anna, ranked No. 60, a neighbor whose program has risen quickly.

Celina plays nine regular-season games in 2026.

A program measured against itself

For a town whose football history is a substantial part of its identity, expectations do not reset each August. A top-20 preseason ranking is close to the baseline. What the schedule provides is a set of measuring sticks, in Liberty Christian, Panther Creek and Anna, spaced across the fall.
